Math games

When working with sets of objects, children also develop a concept of mathematical operations. Mathematical objects, which are denoted by mathematical concepts, do not exist in reality. Understanding them is associated with an important thinking operation – abstraction. By abstracting from real properties of objects, a concept of mathematical concepts is formed: “number”, “size”, “geometric figure”, etc. The formation of mathematical concepts in children begins with the knowledge of the characteristics, properties and attitudes of objects, clarifying what is similar and what is different. At first, children play with different objects, then they begin to pay attention to the features that characterize this diversity. They begin to group objects, classify them according to different features. Children gain an idea of size as a general property that can be measured (length, mass, volume, time, etc.).
