The book contains methodological material that helps develop connected speech in preschool children. If it is relevant, it can also be used in primary school. In the theoretical part of the book, the authors explain the nature and components of connected speech, describe the problems that arise in children with insufficient development of the language system, and offer an assessment system for the acquisition of speech development (both dialogue and monologue). Then, step by step, the authors trace the stages of a speech therapist's work in promoting speech development, offer exercises and games, as well as lexical material for improving monologue speech. It is supplemented by a variety of appendices. The authors of the book are speech therapists of two generations and the work is a result of the interaction between the latest findings and many years of practical experience. The book can be used by both speech therapists and language teachers. It is especially relevant in modern society, where children lack sufficient communication experience from an early age, which is why the development of thinking is often problematic.
