STEM (from English: Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) is an abbreviation used in education to denote the academic field of education, research, and technological development, the basis of which is science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

Today, the acronym STEM is widely used to promote study programs and research areas aimed at the modernization of production.

The STEM field includes sciences traditionally referred to as exact sciences, namely mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, geography, geology, as well as information and communication technologies, technical sciences, and interdisciplinary specialties related to these fields.
